Music Update for Android

Niantic has answered the cries of some fans who encountered a previous bug when playing Pokemon Go. Previously, the game stopped any music from other apps from playing while the game was open. The latest update includes a fix for this and allows players to listen to whatever music they choose while playing Pokemon Go.

It’s not a huge change, but for those that were frustrated by the glitch this will definitely be a welcome change. This glitch was also not present on iOS previously so this levels out the experience for Pokemon Go players on both versions of the software.

The update also came with a few other minor fixes for both platforms. Niantic will most likely keep rolling out these types of updates for awhile longer as there are no signs of major updates coming at the moment. While we may not see more Pokemon added for some time, players can rest assured that Niantic will keep pushing out fixes and polishes to keep making Pokemon Go better than ever.

Pokemon Go Announcing New Pokemon on the 12th

The wait is finally over as Niantic has revealed the release of a new round of Pokemon will be unveiled early next week! These Pokemon will all presumably come from Gen 2, also note that legendaries are still up in the air at this point. All this came from a  press conference Niantic held alongside Sprint this morning.

In addition to this coming announcement, it was revealed that 10,500 Sprint locations will become Pokestops and gyms. A Starbucks flyer also leaked earlier this week pointing to the possibility of a new Pokemon Go themed drink, as well as Starbucks locations, becoming Pokestops as well. With all these new announcements expect to see Pokemon Go pick back up in popularity very soon.

Hopefully, this will also lead to a restock of Go watches which have become extremely rare and hard to find. Also, we do hope to see quite a few indoor catching locations as the winter months are quickly setting in here in the U.S..  Either way, the Pokemon of Gen 2 will definitely be a very welcome addition especially now that tracking is fixed within the game!

New Update Possibly Coming to Go

A large update for Pokémon Go is reportedly coming this December and bringing with it over 100 new Pokémon for users to catch.  The update includes not only the addition of Pokémon from the second generation of the orinal Game Boy Color games, Pokémon Gold and Silver, but also allowing for players to challenge one another to battle, trade, and even raise their Pokémon like pets.  According to the update, Mewtwo and Mew, two legendary Pokémon that were not previously available within the game are now listed as coming to Go following the December update.

While the contents of the update haven’t been confirmed by Niantic Labs, analysis of the in-game code by PokéVS reveals where the update could be applied.  The update could reinvigorate interest in Pokémon Go this holiday season as fans have been eagerly waiting for the game to gain a more steady stream of content.  Pokémon Go has reached over 500 million downloads since launh but since then user activity has dropped considerably due to lack of content and updates to draw interest for newcomers and the already established player base.
